Our 17 month encourages (literally gives us the courage) to claim our radiance, to share ourselves fully, and to contribute in ways that inspire hope and change.
Autumn brings change. I love the colors, the longer shadows and the nip of cold air even as the sun warms my back.
Nature is our best teacher. We see ‘loss’ in the Fall. We experience shifts that bring us into the darker times of year outwardly and this affects us inwardly.
Despite my own resistance to feeling loss or grief, I know the journey is necessary. I’ve experienced quite a bit of loss in my life since I was young. Some of the mourning has been piling up. This new season has prompted me to feel into the sorrow and grief in a way that allows me to keep moving forward from a place of greater depth.
I am grateful to my life coach, Janette Valentino, for referring me to Alexandra Kennedy the author of Honoring Grief, Creating a Space to Let Yourself Heal. This Chiron Return is kicking my butt and since it lasts until 2016, I know I want the support of someone who holds a powerful and nurturing space. What I’ve learned with Alexandra’s counseling is that I am the one that can create that container.
The 17 energy is the perfect support as it encourages all of us to go deep, feel what we need to feel inwardly and then cultivate power from that place. Ultimately when we are deeply connected to all of our feelings, we can clear, open, and radiate with more love. That’s my intention even as I feel some heart-ripping-open sadness.
During the month of October, we can expand our courage, feel our resilience and bolster our self-esteem in direct ways.

Self-care is still on the top of my list for this month. Valuing our health and wellness in all forms is necessary before moving into Winter. And as we take good care of ourselves, we garner more confidence and radiate more of who we are into the world.
Tips to consider:
- extra sleep when you can — your eyes will sparkle even more!
- warm foods — they taste good and keep us healthy!
- journalling to connect within — this gives your soul some time ‘me’ time and it will feel lighter!
- learning (remembering) energy cultivation practices for more vitality — you will radiate even more delicious beauty!
Life force energy flows through all of creation. We, just like the trees, sometimes need to pull inward (a teaching in the 7 year) in order to cultivate energy to move through a more challenging time.
