Aquarius energy awakens those who are ready to change. Aquarian rhythm flows deep into our beings with a beat all of its own moving us closer to our soul’s destiny. Her wisdom reminds us of what we could do (there is not a command with Aquarius – truly an open invitation) to prepare for what is coming next in our lives.
The supreme beauty of Aquarius is the expansiveness offered to our minds through unusual, unexpected, and unpredictable experiences, relationships, and events. Her ruling planet, Uranus, is a powerhouse of energy – more like lightening than anything else – giving us what we need to transform in an instant.
Aquarians (and those with Aquarius moons, rising signs or prominent Uranus placement) are known for their commitment to humanitarian projects. They believe in love for all beings. They are unwavering in their philosophies of ecological responsibility that includes the wise use of technology and beyond.
They trust in the future because they sense it long before it arrives.
They take the responsible Capricorn energy and offer their service to those in need with innovations that people don’t even know they need yet. But they will. Aquarians are living breathing science fiction that turns into fact.
Aquarius energy is electric, and the image above really exemplifies the power of yin/yang and light/dark. But with Aquarius, there is not as much polarity as there is inclusiveness. You cannot have one without the other.
There are days where words don’t do the energies justice – dark/light; light/shadow; masculine/feminine – there are deeper and more profound ways that will be revealed to understand the exquisite energies that are both different and intermingled to create unity with the connection of individuals.
Aquarian energy speaks directly to this ‘brain stretch.’ Those born under this sign know themselves to be ones who don’t fit into any box. They will, in fact, make sure they don’t fit into a schema that does not fully represent ALL while allowing each to have their unique expression.
We have entered a time of ‘stretching’ to unveil the power that exists within each of our beings and our souls. We must disengage from old beliefs, doubts, and fears that keep us from our most profound offering to this world that we have chosen for this lifetime.
While Leo holds the opposite side of the spectrum and reminds us that creativity and courage is necessary for great leadership, with Aquarius, we are reminded that dedicated and original acts of leadership require a connection to our greater service – how we are ‘giving back’ to the planet, the universe, or to those in our lives who have supported us in many ways.
While we know Aquarius as ‘the water bearer’, it is not a ‘water sign’ as some would believe! It is an AIR sign and is imbued with qualities of mental and spiritual energies. Traditionally, Aquarius pours the waters that wash away all that is getting in the way of our spiritual rebirth and knowledge.
Aquarian energy is dynamic, always looking for a way to shift perspective, create a new and revolutionary way to offer healing, light and love. Rebellions that create big changes fall under Aquarius. You might consider where your Inner Rebel lives and what type of progressive (and insistent) change she is offering you.
Both of my grandfathers were Aquarians. One was an engineer who was part of the team on the patent for the air conditioner, something that certainly changed the course of history. My other grandfather was a letter carrier who loved the people on his route and spent time chatting with those who were home as he walked his route every day. They exemplify the spectrum of Aquarians from being part of the collective to innovative technology!
Growth is an Aquarian’s middle name. They love to discover. They love to invent. And they love to share their many ideas with those who have the capacity to see beyond the ordinary.
Offering the mind something powerful, something that will release old thought patterns, something that opens new neural pathways – that is Aquarian energy.
What to consider in preparation for the Aquarian New Moon:
- How do you define freedom for yourself and your life?
- In what ways are you free?
- What do you wish to be ‘free from’?
- What areas of your life need a fresh start?
- How are you connecting with groups and friends in your life?
- How might you connect differently?
- In what ways do you feel different or ‘alien’?
- In what ways are you a part of a ‘bigger plan’?
