What can we learn from this Capricorn New Moon?
Let’s just jump right in!
Taking into account all that 2020 showed us, all that you experienced, all that we are experiencing now, how are you feeling?
If you are feeling raw and stretched past your capacity, you are in good company. The antidote is, as always, extreme self-care.
While that might sound ‘selfish’ or ‘mundane’ compared to the atrocities we have been witnessing (and experiencing), it is the one thing we can focus on — and Capricorn New Moons are for focus — that will support us in creating the sustainable journey for moving forward with the changes on their way.
I chose this photo because (while not my best) it is the first flower on my ‘Christmas Cactus’ that has bloomed in years (maybe 3?). That it bloomed on the day of this New Moon felt VERY important…a reminder that even when we think something is ‘never’ going to bloom again…it does.
Capricorn is strong, resilient, and committed.
We are literally being given every opportunity by the cosmos to ‘set things right’ — to remember that social justice is not a whim or a trend. We are being shown where we have gone down the wrong path for far too long.
Witnessing last week’s insurrection even in micro-doses is enraging on all levels. With information pouring out each day that more violence is planned, it’s understandable that we might feel fear or anxiety (or both) We must absolutely take care of our selves using the tools that we have learned in our lifetimes so that we can be present for those who need us most right now.
So, in the midst of all the chaos, Capricorn sends us her tender and firm reminders that in the days and hours before the New Moon, we have a powerful opportunity for healing. As the New Moon becomes exact at 9 pm Pacific time on Tuesday, we can offer our magic for healing as Pluto’s energy is right there — cozying up to the New Moon.
For all of you who have been creating sacred spaces for others — keep doing that! AND take some time today to take care of yourself — whatever that might look like.
